From Code to Curry: My Journey into Writing The Mindful Technologist

When I first sat down to write The Mindful Technologist: Tales for Life, Code, and Curry, I didn’t think of myself as an author. I thought of myself as someone simply jotting down slices of my life—the debugging struggles, the leadership lessons, and yes, even the recipes that gave me comfort after long days at work.

This is my very first book, published entirely through Amazon’s platform. And before I go further, let me pause to say this: if you find a typo, a slip in tone, or an imperfect line—I sincerely apologize. Writing and publishing a book is like releasing a piece of your soul into the world, and it’s not always flawless. But it is honest.
Why I Wrote This Book
This book isn’t meant to be a step-by-step manual or a perfect retelling of every episode in my career. Instead, it’s a synopsis of experiences—a blend of moments that shaped me. Some are sharp technical lessons, others are reflections on leadership, resilience, and mentorship. And then, some are simply memories flavored with the smell of dosai batter or the warmth of masala chai.
For me, technology and food have always been two parallel threads in life. Debugging code often reminded me of grinding spices—both require patience, persistence, and a willingness to start over when things don’t turn out right. And just as food nourishes the body, stories nourish the spirit.
A Personal Offering
If you decide to read The Mindful Technologist, know that you’re stepping into my kitchen and my workspace at once. It’s deeply personal, because every page is a mix of who I am as a technologist, a parent, a leader, and a dreamer who believes food has a language of its own.
This is my humble attempt to share—not to preach, not to present a polished autobiography—but to offer pieces of my journey in the hope that somewhere, in some line, you’ll find a reflection of your own story too.
So grab a cup of chai, settle into a comfortable spot, and come along for the ride. It’s not just a book about code or curry—it’s about resilience, balance, and finding meaning in both the everyday grind and the little joys. And if you find any rough edges along the way, remember: it’s my first book, but it certainly won’t be my last.
